Anyone here ever play on a clay court?

I have. its extremely difficult to get a firm fitting while moving on
clay. i was slipping all over the place. and i had very good traction on
the bottom of my sneakers. didn't help. i can see why only 4 top
American players have won the french open. it takes years and years to
get used to the clay surface. no wonder those euro players who grew up
playing on clay
are so much better. and are so hard to beat.

for most people in the united states who played on public courts, clay
courts meant dirt courts, not the processed material that they use on
maintained clay courts. many of those clay courts were eventually
covered with asphalt and have since been converted to hard courts.
