It would be a shame to stop watching tennis just because the Williamses> are no longer on top. Henin-Hardenne, for instance, is capable of> producing some beautiful tennis.>
maybe so, but as a practical matter, the most important player right now is sharapova. for example, when sharapova lost to schynder, that was the lead story on the tennis news websites. when mauresmo won the italian open title, the lead story was federer's win at the hamburg masters event.

That is probably an easy one for the media. They prefer Sharapova's longer legs and may be thinking that Mauresmo feels the same way.
If the most important player is the one that gets the most attention - Anna K may still be in the top 5.

Complete bollocks of course. If we accept that then Capriati has to rate top 3 all time in absolute terms, ahead of MN/Evert/Graf...

Henin is light yrs ahead of sistas in pure tennis talent.... different tiers.

I think if sistas left the game today it would be similar to the reaction in Aus when they cancelled FO coverage.

What happened to the elaborate GS counts that you always hammer people with? Not convenient this time?

got something against white folks? imagine if every white guy quit watching NBA/NFL cuz no whites? you don't want to think about that though, right?

given that tennis isn't olympic figure skating, which do *you* think real tennis players (as opposed to those who just *discuss* tennis players) would prefer?

Not, however, in achievement thusfar (particularly vs. Serena), and as> you have said sufficiently often, "talent" and 75 cents will buy you a> cup of coffee...>

But why does she win matches, & in what manner...?

I agree achievements are obviously the main game, but who here would pull out an old tape of Lendl v Wilander & kick back with a bottle of chardonnay....?

Absolutely no one - not even Raja...>>
I think you will surely need more than 1 bottle!
Yes, for Lendl/Wilander it would be best to pass out early in 1st set.....
