In sheer desperation, Sharapova tried to play Schnyder at her own game for a bit in the 3rd and came up woefully short. I am not sure Schnyder has the mental discipline to be a top 5 player, though. She struggles with the power players on faster surfaces, and she is similar to Safin in the sense that she has tons of talent, but no mental discipline whatsoever. It's great to see her play like this, though. Like Santoro in the men's game, she is sort of an unappreciated gem of the game.

	Schnyder can be so strange anyway. She can lose to people she should> whip because she doesn't like to play them. Not very professional an> attitude. Yes, at one point she had a serious problem with Kournikova of all people. For some reason she just drove Schnyder insane.

This quote form Sharapova brought a smile to my face though ``She's a very different player than most players on tour,'' Sharapova said. ``She has sort of an old-style sort of game and moves really, really well.
