Apparently, in the past 2 weeks, someone named "kylie minogue" has played 12 sold-out shows, 7 in london, 5 in manchester, to 15,000 people per show paying an average of $55 a ticket. That's $12 million in ticket sales.
There must be some rational explanation for this, but ..............what?

yanks tune out of anything that isn't crap hip-pop a la fiddy cent or> kanye west?>
kylie is cool
I once heard of her eons ago, perhaps late 1980s? She had a US hit with a remake of a classic song called "the loco-motion". It was a terrible teeny-pop dance version.
Haven't heard of her since until i got this concert attendance report from Billboard...
Um, she had a pretty big hit in the U.S. just a couple of years ago> with "Can't Get You Out of My Head"
You're right! You jogged my memory - i did see a video or something for that one a couple years ago. I recall thinking "wow, kylie minogue? is this the same madonna-ish wannabe who had that one fluke hit 15 yrs ago?"....

You're a little confused Stephen. She seems a "madonna-ish wannabe" to you because you haven't seen her in 15 years because you live in America. For those of us in Australia/UK she's bigger than Madonna. She's had about 30 'fluke hits' over almost 20 years. Can't say I'm a fan, but go look up her biography. I liked her grunge period better than the rest of it, but that seemed to coincide with her disappearing off the charts.

I'm not a big fan either, apart from that Barbarelle style video she did many years ago, but she is absolutely massive in Europe/Australia/UK, and I believe she was recently promoted to godly status in Japan..
