No 2 tournament on clay is Monte Carlo. Monte Carlo is even the home tournament for a lot of tennis players. Monte Carlo is only a little city, but with international flair and a leading role in international sport (surely also for ATP). Monte Carlo with it's 33000 inhabitants is a greater location for international sport events than most other places in the world. Hamburg with easily the greatest tradition among the 3 is no 3 tournament. Hamburg and Monte Carlo have at least one court with a roof, are prepared for heavy rain. It can be disputed that Hamburg is no 2 cause of it's tradition, I think and most players will - especially the ~ 50 players with home in MC - that MC is ahead. Rome tournament has nothing, nobody could/can name a single reason for selecting Rome as no 2. And that's really undisputable. It's good that this is written. Errors should be corrected.
