Didn't see the match, but Johansson made nearly twice as many unforced errors as Morrison. Besides, Morrison won 97% of his points on first serve and fired 15 aces to JJ's 9, so I guess it was a bit of both.

from a quick glance at the match statistics, the men seem to be committing an unusually high number of unforced errors - numbers that are on par with what you often see with the women. it may be that the scorers are very liberal in how they are scoring unforced errors.

Johansson has had one or two surprising defeats since his rise up the>rankings - seem to remember he got beaten by Alex Bogdanovic (so-so>Brit at Challenger level) on grass at Nottingham last year.
Joachim Johansson has had a shoulder injury lately. He was meant to be ruled out of the DC match, but decided to play and it doesn't look to have done him any good. Serving all those bombs appears to have caught up with him quite quickly. -- Luke Croll ABDK FAQ: http://home.earthlink.net/~abdk-faq/faq.htm

Do you think Johansson's shoulder will be a big problem for him this> year? I'm struggling to think of many of the really big servers that> have managed to avoid major injury during their career. What about this Morrison guy who beat Johansson - is this result just a> one-off or is he on to bigger and better things?

Roddick has already had wrist injuries and suchlike as a result of his big serving. Didn't he do a massive serve in Bangkok and was then off the tour for a while with an injury?

One-off. He can occasionally really bring his game to the table, but more often than not, he crashes out. Big serve and nothing more, really. -- Luke Croll ABDK FAQ: http://home.earthlink.net/~abdk-faq/faq.htm
