She has quite a few, but the real reason is that she wasn't defending anything and Capriati was.
The Top Ten is already final, BTW -- that is, these ten will be Top Ten when it's over, unless Schnyder wins Miami.

Twice: She played a first round match and she beat a seed.

Odds are that whoever lasts longer will be the higer-ranked Belgian.

I thought she and Capriati were both defending 32 points.

The order of the Top Ten could change, though.
I'm interested in whether Molik will hang onto her No.8 spot. It might come down to what sort of form Henin-Hardenne is in, and whether Venus can beat Serena. There should be some interesting matches involving those players, and they will occur late enough in the tournament that they might even show some of them on TV. [Robert, I don't expect you to make any predictions or even projections about this. I just mention it because I hope Molik does well. I think there are other potential order changes in the Top Ten, too.]

Ah. Different language here. Zvonareva isn't *defending* anything, because it wasn't part of her best 17.
But that column means nothing unless you look at the seventeenth tournament scores down in my footnotes.

Yes, of course.

The only comment I would make is that Venus has to beat Serena to have any chance to pass Molik.
