Roddick can only compete with Hewitt (and Federer) for short bursts during matches. When his game drops from giving absolute 100% they then pick him off at their leisure. Roddick may shoot out of the blocks and win the first set but expect the Aussie to be toying with him by the ned of the match.

From what I've seen stats-wise, Hewitt looks great. The only problem I saw was during his match with P-H Mathieu, he only landed 37% of his first serves. Granted, he was never broken and won the match 0 and 1, but that could present a problem if Roddick gets a few extra cuts on Hewitt's serve than normal.
I liked what I saw from Roddick tonight against Moya and think he has a great shot to win the entire event (yes, defeating Hewitt and Federer). Even after he lost the tiebreak, I felt he would dig in and win because there was no panic in his eyes.
What Roddick won't get from Hewitt that he got from Moya all day is:
so many easy service games. Hewitt knows how to lock onto a serve much better than Moya.
an open forehand court to hit into. I still don't understand why Moya runs a mile to hit his forehand from his backhand corner, when the shot he hits gives him no advantage in the rally. It's plain stupid. This isn't clay. Moya's backhand is a competent shot. I don't understand why he avoids driving it when he can.
an easy time at net. Roddick was 17 of 21 at the net against Moya. But Moya didn't hit one offensive lob the entire match, which allowed Andy to close in. Hewitt will lob Andy just when Andy thinks he won't. We'll see how effective Roddick is at net tomorrow.
I'm pulling for Hewitt, but I've got a feeling Roddick will get through tomorrow. The last time they played on American hardcourts, Hewitt won the last 20 points of the match. I've got a feeling Roddick is still mad about that.
