Indian Wells mens' quarter finals predictions

Invisible 17 March 2005 20:36:47
What do you all reckon for the quarter finals?

Federer v Kiefer...Kiefer's in great form, but I can see Federer
grinding this one out in two close sets.

Henman v Canas...Canas is something of a nemesis for Henman, but I
reckon Henman can pull this one off, in 2 sets - Canas prefers the
longer best-of 5 set matches.

Roddick v Moya...Hmmm, will be close this one - all their previous
encounters have been tight matches - will go for Roddick here in 3
sets. This is sort of match he needs to be winning.

Hewitt v Agassi - Agassi's won the last two encounters against Hewitt,
but I think Hewitt is in the sort of form to beat Agassi - Hewitt in
two tie-break sets.

Federer will sweep Kiefer aside. Canas will beat Henman. Roddick will
beat Moya and he'll be praying for Agassi to beat Hewitt - he may get
his wish.

lol... I'm sick of this crap. Roddick is very capable of beating Hewitt.

I agree with you. But no one else agrees with me or you. Hewitt is a
reactive/defensive player, and will not be able to cope with Roddick's
weapons, if Roddick is 'on', which he hasn't been for a long time.

Of course Roddick is capabale of beating Hewitt. But Hewitt is just as
capable of defeating Roddick.

Either way, it's no shame for either player to lose to the other.

As it is, both players have dangerous QF's. And even if Andy and Andre win,
Andy's record against Agassi is similar to his record vs. Hewitt: only 1 win
out of about five tries.

I don't think Roddick would be looking forward to playing either player, as
both know how to return his serve.

OH YES IT FUCKEN IS. IT WOULD MAKE ME SICK TO THE STOMACH IF HEWITT
LOST TO THAT SEPPO. NOT THAT IT WILL HAPPEN ANYWAY.

Roddick to come through in straights, but Agassi to lose to Hewitt.
I'd much rather see Agassi win, but I don't think it's going to matter
in the end. I just can't see anyone getting past Federer, who will
beat Cañas in his semi.

Yep, it is just becoming tedious the way Fed is winning all these
titles.

This puts even more pressure on him in slams - he'll 'expect' to win &
that will cost him when he's down a set & break. Wonder if he can win
every tournament he enters except slams....?

Yep well, they let their hatred cloud their judgement.

Maybe, but he did have match point against Safin, and so probably
should have won, and would therefore have won AO due to ownership of
Hewitt.

That doesn't bother me at all. It just shows how far above the rest of
the field he is. It will be interesting to see how he gets on in the
clay season.
