No-namer? He was in the top-20 and moving up quickly. Sampras was #6
if I recall and dropping.

That loss to Federer when playing as the 4-time defending champion
facing an up-and-comer playing his first match on Centre Court dropped
Sampras out of the Top 10.

The ATP has stats that you can look up including the rankings history.
