No. Sampras era rules, goals, measurements apply to everyone in the wacky world of whisper.

"It was true that [Borg] had never won the Australian Masters, but that was one competition he had refused to participate in since he felt he had been badly treated in Australia in the mid-1970s...But if he succeeeded [in 1980] in his ninth attempt to win the US Open he would have won three of the four major tennis crowns in one year. In that case he might consider breaking his promise and flying to Melbourne in December in an attempt to complete the Grand Slam, WHICH WAS HIS GREATEST DREAM."

No, they just offered more ca$h, & players were poor back then.

No, because FO at any point in history is considered more prestigious than WCT today.

Yep. The last WCT champs was held 1989 when its prestige already was a shadow of glory days of 70:ies.
The simple formulas like 7-5-4-3 do work for sure now (you could debate whether it is too biased of course). But if WCT champs are added to that formula then of course YEC and DC succee should also and some other important tournaments from the past (like pro circuit slams).
I tried it a year ago with OK succee (but had no WCT/DC included). I probably come back with another try with era-depending (total of 37p/year) weighting like (just a fast and averaging example):
70:ies 10-8-5-3 for slams YEC 5, WCT 6 = total of 37p available
80:ies 10-8-7-5 for slams YEC 5, WCT 2 = total of 37p available
90-00:ies 10-8-8-7 for slams YEC 4 = total of 37p avalaible

What I was trying to prove is the prestige BULLLLLLSHIT
You failed miserably as usual. Ask Lendl about Wimbledon prestige.

Now, turds like Whisper want to make that the benchmark for greatness> and apply it retro to all players before Sampras. Nothing could be> more unfair. It's absurd really.
how wrong are you. sampras beat all the past greats not becuase he has more slams than they do but because he has more Wim/USO than they have. And wim and uso were always two biggest events. even in borg/connors era.
Borg and Connors never skipped wim/uso, and wtt was always at best third biggest event.
So..yes..Sampras is greater.
And his two additional 2AOs made sure he sets a record of 14 slams for the future..since in last two decade's slams are clearly the thing to win. they are played on 4 surffaces and the difference between them is much smaller than it used to be.
