David is sounding more and more like a Nadal starfucker....I suppose it's not surprising since he actually likes Hewitt?????

Fed/Nadal will be a real matchup in the FO!
OK, today the men's tennis was better than women's Exciting, if nothing else.
Fed was up so many times in the 5th set, a break up, two matchpoints at 5-6, twice a minibreak up. I don't think I will ever like Nadal's game, but he really doesn't give up, have to give him that.
This has probably been discussed hundreds of times in the Fed-Nadal threads that I have skipped during the last few months, but it seemed like Fed really should go for his shots. He was very succesful when he did it. But he didn't do it enough.
Anyway, he got very close now. Two matchpoints. Nobody can't say he can't beat Nadal on clay now, unless it is mentally too tough.

Yes, Nadal has that indominatable aura on clay right now. It will take a whale of an effort for anyone to beat him 3/5 sets on clay. Fed is close, but my gosh ...
-- Fräulein Forehand, undone by Seles's ability to hit winners fore and aft at the German Open, was espied at Roland Garros using a two-fisted backhand, presumably to keep up in the arms race. In the head war between the two young women, Seles may have won the final then and there.

I've already stated in the past that Nadal is not my favorite player. He's not even my favorite of the young bunch, as I like Gasquet and Murray better.
But what I do love about Rafa is his competitiveness and that he's a foil for Federer. No one else steps up to challenge Federer except Nadal. That's got to be admired. And there's no denying his abilities on the court and in the clutch.

That may be why he beats the Fed-boy.

He hasn't so far.
I've been telling you guys over and over it's all about the FO.

Easily? Well, UNLESS you are saying that:> 1. Nadal's average (on clay) is much higher than Federer's> AND> 2. Federer's performance today is an outlier> AND> 3. the performance function is mean reverting> (2 and 3 prove the fact that today was an exception)>
I don't see much your point. Because now, unless you are supposing what> I just said, the only normal assumption is that Fed is bridging the> gap.>

Fed was almost eliminated in 2 matches before the final.
