Top 10 teams in Europe this year ??

Mh 27 May 2005 03:13:16
I am not even going to attempt to rank them myself, and will only
nominate what I think are candidates for the top 10. I don't know for
sure which ones deserve to be weeded out.

So in no order:

Barcelona
Real Madrid
Villareal

Juve
Milan
Inter

PSV Eindhoven

CSKA Moscow

Sporting Lisbon

Lyon

Bayern

Chelsea
Arsenal
Liverpool

That's 14 - got to lose 4. The 4 would have to be permed from Arsenal,
Inter, Villareal, Sporting, and Real I guess.

 Quoting Futbolmetrix in rec.sport.soccer:
IFFHS (updated to April 29)>
1. ManU>2. Milan>3. Inter>4. Newcastle>5. Monaco>6. Chelsea>7. Schalke 04>8. Arsenal>9. Bayern>10. Lyon>

Hehe, having MU on top is ROTFMTLMAO even to me as an MU fan. =)
I'm not that biased...

I will however make a case of that MU twice in a row has lost already in
the otos to the eventual winners and the eventual final chokers,
respectively. Given a "luckier" "draw", MU might well have reached farther
both years. Of course it's speculation, but I dare say it's a reasonable
speculation to air.

Though I think Lyon deserve to be higher than both Bayern and PSV, really.

real too high, and no way Betis should be above Villareal, who ended up
above them in the league in spite of going very far in UEFA cup. Even a
Copa win for Betis shouldn't put them higher. Man U doesn't belong on
there. Juve should be 3rd or 4th. No Bayern, Lyon, or PSV ? Bah !

Liverpool should not be top. Milan should be behind Juve. Barcelona 10th
after winning one of the top 3 leagues (arguably still the top) in
Europe convincingly ?

Milan and PSV too high. Lyon and Barcelona too low.

I like your list the best of all of the above.
