What in the earth have the Dutch done against the Footballing Gods to
deserve this??? Twice in a week they had teams playing the favourite of
the tournament in the Semi-Final, thoroughly outplaying them just to go
out on away goals. Oh, and having away goals in extra time is just not
fair. BTW, I've almost never seen a match where more than a minute has
been added in extra time...

Well, thanks to the Dutch teams for lighting up the European scene this
year, where so many other matches in the finishing stages have been oh so
boring. Congratulations to Sporting for making it to their first European
Final (and on their home turf), and for the third year in a row a
Portuguese team is in a European Final (this never happened before).

It will be interesting to see what CSKA can do, they're probably not as
fatigued because their season started not long ago. At least good that
they won that Semi, because I'd rather have two teams in the Final that
plays their best players...

On a related note, WTF happened in that Austria-GAK match yesterday???

Will Grazer AK be handed the victory, or is the end of the match to be
replayed?

OK, this was embarrassing *blushes*

How could I forget that? *shaking head* I'm sure I had some valid
historical point, but I guess my head went nuts because of the tension.
Good luck anyway, as I said before on the condition that you let Benfica
have the League title this year :-)

Peaceful pitch invasion by the Austria fans. Very silly, but better than throwing flares,
I suppose. The 3-0 result for GAK has already been convalidated, the punishment for
Austria will be decided on Monday.

After having gone out against Parma in the UEFA Cup quarterfinals, Austria really
collapsed in the last couple of weeks and are all but out of the title race for the second
season in a row - with all the millions spent, I suppose that was hard to swallow for
some of their supporters. (What's even worse is that local rivals Rapid are now set
to win the championship, and their team consists mostly of young home-grown players)

Ciao,
Werner

I looked at rsssf.com and it is 60/61 to 62/63 for Benfica, 63/64 for
Sporting, and then 64/65 for Benfica again.
