As being discussed by BBC comms that IF Liverpool win the CL, and their current position of 5th disqualifying them from defending their trophy (not having finished 4th, and not having automatic qualification), could UEFA twist the rules to add a clause where the CL winners MUST be entered into the next years competition?
Thus screwing Everton, who are 4th right now, and would have to go to the UEFA CUP!

Are what they saying possible, and/or correct??
The rules already state max of 4 teams from England. The rules wouldn't be twisted - basically, Everton would be screwed by this result and just miss out. Just as some Spanish team were back a few years ago when Real(?) won the CL but missed top four in Spain.

So Everton really really want Chelsea to win the CL, as Paul Chan said on #ecrss.

IFs (IFFs) aside. Liverpool won't win the ECL.

It has always been the rule, the champions are allowed to defend the cup. There wouldn't need to be a rule change.

Why shouldn't the top say 4 CL teams get automatic entry to the next year's comp?

The champions should always have the opportunity to defend themselves, that's just common sense. There wouldn't need to be a rule change in this instance anyway.

The actual rule is:
1.03 At the request of the national association concerned, the UEFA Champions League title-holders may be entered for this competition, as an additional representative of that association, if they have not qualified for the UEFA Champions League via the top domestic league championship. If, in such a case, the title-holders come from an association entitled to enter four teams for the UEFA Champions League, the fourth-placed club in the top domestic league championship has to be entered for the UEFA Cup.
