26 March CONMEBOL qualifier - Venezuela vs. Colombia
Mark V. 8 March 2005 04:21:18
Hello,
I am going to be traveling in Venezuela from 24 March until 11 April. I see that Venezuela will be playing a home match vs. Colombia on 26 March. Does anyone know where in Venezuela this will be played? If it is in either Caracas or Cd. Bolivar (are qualifiers ever played there?) I may be able to make it. Maracaibo, however, is out of the question. Do these matches sell out quickly? How much do tickets cost? Thanks for any help.

Hi: this match is to be played at Maracaibo.
The have never played at Ciudad Bolivar, nor they have a pro side there.
Caracas was the venue for this match, but they had problems with the stadium.
Tickets are on sale and the last news I had was that they were selling for US $ 15, the roofless "gradas" and US $ 52 "tribuna" (stands with roof).
There's a VIP section for I guess some US $ 75 .
Pretty expensive for us.
You may also go to see Mineros at Puerto Ordaz (some 70 kms from Ciudad Bolivar) or Caracas FC or Italchacao at Caracas.
Regards and good luck.

Thanks Juan. Those prices are also pretty expensive for my grad student budget. I won't be in western Venezuela, so can't see anything in Maracaibo. Perhaps Puerto Ordaz..
