Ronaldinho’s comments

Barcelona striker Ronaldinho claims all four English clubs will be
eliminated from the Champions League this week.

Could someone remind Ronaldinho that Liverpool is leading Leverkusen by
a score of 3-1, that his own team is only leading by one goal and have
conceded an away goal!

Could someone also remind Ronaldinho to just shut up. He is paid to kick
the football, not boost Chelsea motivation!

Obviously it looks like Arsenal is in trouble but the situation is not
tragic for ManU.

I agree. If Chelsea wins 1-0 they go on. Not mission impossible. If
ManU is up 1-0 after regulation time then they go to extra time and,
possibly, PKs. Also far from mission impossible. Liverpool is sitting
somewhat uneasily against Leverkusen. We all know how the latter can
light it up at home.

I agree that Arsenal's situation is most dire, though perhaps they've
picked up some momentum from their victory this weekend.

I predict that 2 EPL clubs will advance to the next round. You heard it
here first.

I think Ronaldinho very well may be correct. I can well see Liverpool
losing 2-0 in Germany, Arsenal and Man Utd are up against the wall,
and I think Barcelona will score at Stamford Bridge, which will make
life toughfor Chelsea.

he may very well be correct. But he could also be completely wrong and
all four will go through.

My prediction is Chelsea win 1-0, Arsenal 3-0, Man Utd draw or go out on
penalties after winning 1-0, and Liverpool lose 2-0. Not that this is
NOT at all what I would like to happen. Just a gut feeling.

Has he actually said that he thinks all English clubs will go out *this
week*?

The part where he says he doesn't think any of the English sides will do it
appears as though he's talking about sides who can challenge for the
competition overall, rather than who will simply make it to the quarter
finals.

I agree on all counts. Chelsea will go through,
but it won't be easy. United are a big question mark.
They could do it, but it will take a different attitude
than recently. If they can't handle Crystal Palace, how
do they expect to deal with Milan??? Well, that's the
sort of thing Man. Utd. does, up one day, and down the
next. It will hinge on Ruud. If he's back even to 50%
of his game form, then they've got a good chance. I've
seen him getting stronger each game he plays. Lets hope
Fergie plays his best team from the start and doesn't
try to get cute with the lines.
Arsenal I think is down the tubes. Henry had his
hat trick already and that's his quota of goals this
week. They'll shut him down.
Liverpool, well they should go through if they
don't get too cocky, and they won't.

Always surprises, though.
