Racism in Spain...AGAIN!!!

Ben Robert Smith 27 February 2005 21:50:23
Racist chants were directed at Real Madrid defender Roberto Carlos
during their 2-0 defeat to Deportivo La Coruna.

The referee, Jose Javier Lostantos Omar, had to stop the game so a
message could be put out on the PA system asking for the chants to
stop.

I watched the game and the referee actually went on the side line to
talk at the 4 official about the racism chants. They then made an
official warning in the stadium.

I wouldn’t have notice anything if the GolTv commentator wouldn’t have
mentioned it.

BBC are making it sound like it was some long stoppage when it was at
best a minute.

Not at all. This is what the BBC said:

"The referee, Jose Javier Lostantos Omar, stopped the match so a
message could be put out on the public address system asking for the
abuse to stop. "

The ref. paused it, took the ball, crossed the pitch to talk to some
officials on the sideline. The the game resumed
