Are Arsenal hypocrites for talking about how rough play has today ended Eduardo's career? Wasn't the tackle that Gallas did against Nani last weekend just as bad a the one that ended Eduardo's career today? If Taylor is banned from playing football for ending Eduardo's career, should Gallas be charged with attempting to end Nani's career? You are a joke...or blind !!

| Re: Too many people using the Eduardo incident as a means of taking a cheap shot at Wenger Dave Cox 04:17:18 |
| | Look that tackle just went wrong. I dont believe that any player (bar Roy Keane) would go out in the 3rd minute to look to cause sirious injury to a player. It was just one of those things like the Buust tackle. And as for Whinger "to stop Arsenal you have to kick Arsenal " how many red and yellow cards have you got.
In retrispect, this must be the first time Whinger has actually seen something on the pitch as it happens. If it involves one of your players being booked/sent off/attacking an opponent, he always seems to miss this........
All the best to Eduardo though, hope your up and about soon - Take Alan Smith as proof you can!!

Now let me first of all say that I think Wenger went way too far in saying that Taylor should be banned from playing football forever. Unless you can demonstrate that he deliberately set out to hurt Eduardo, it would be too harsh a punishment. I think the tackle was dangerous because it was ill-timed and reckless, but I don't think it was malicious. In order to send out a message to all players (including any Arsenal ones that may be inclined to make stupid tackles) that these kind of tackles are completely unacceptable, this Taylor guy should be banned at least for the rest of the season. However, I have to say that I'm really quite appaled by the number of people on the Internet and on the radio phone-ins who are concenrating on what was a heat-of-the-moment comment by Wenger regarding "Taylor should never play again", rather than the horrific injury itself. In an ideal world Wenger should retract this comment when he's cooled down a bit, but it's also understandable that he would be annoyed about possibly losing an important player forever. Some of the "comparisons" being cited of similar violent Arsenal behaviour are just absurd - as if the tackle by Gallas on Nani last weekend was as bad as what happened to Eduardo. As if the challenge in December by Eboue on John Terry, that resulted in him suffering from a broken metatarsal (I'm sure Eduardo would take that right now), was anywhere near as bad as what's happened to poor Eduardo. That's not to condone Gallas, Eboue, or any other Arsenal player who's done something stupid, but really, there's no comparison to the Eduardo incident - a tackle that resulted in injuries so bad that TV stations won't even replay it, and many of the players who saw it were clearly in distress. I just think too many rival fans are allowing their dislike of Wenger and his heat-of-the-moment remark to cloud the real issue here, which is that of a player and, by all accounts, a nice guy who may have had his career ended, and even if he does somehow make it back, may never be the same again. Sure, Wenger is one-eyed and biased but I just feel this incident is so bad that trying to use it as an opportunity to score a few points amonsgst rival fans is pretty tasteless to say the least. In the aftermath of such a bad incident we should see common decency not attempts at point scoring. I hope he makes it back and goes on to score a lot of goals for Arsenal in the future!

It's not enough that they get a dodgy free kick to go up 1-0.
No, then the numpty in the black kit fails to see Gael Clichy WIN THE BALL in the penalty area, and awards a bogus penalty to level the match.
Absolutely cheated, and there's no excuse for that kind of nonsense.
Correct score: Arsenal 2, Birmingham City 0.

Possibly a career threatening injury caused by Mark Taylor in the third minute of the game. TV stations refusing to show the replay, which should be some indicator of the gravity of the situation. Eduardo also received treatment on the field for 8 minutes before the game restarted. His season is over nonetheless, which must be a huge blow to Arsenal. 27' McFadden 1-0 fk Flamini made a stupid foul on McFadden, who scored from the freekick. Arsenal looks very shaken and unsteady, not really creating anything. Birmingham dont look much better, but McFadden is plaing well. Here is a pick of the accident, looks worse than the Cisse incident...

Sydney is gearing up as the venue for tomorrow's A League Grand Final between Newcastle and Central Coast with an expected crowd of 40,000 plus. It should be a very even contest. It is remarkable how far this competition has come in three short years. It is generally accepted that the competition needs to expand, however I was dismayed at this weeks news that the two new teams for next season would come from Qld. What about the ACT or Wollongong ???? The latter is crying out for a team. Wollongong, Canberra & Western Sydney should be well before anyone in Queensland. Unfortunately they go where the deals are. Central Coast was chosen because they had no links with any of the old ethnic clubs. That's why Central Coast is even in the thing when it's just down the road from Newcastle. Every team ever playing out of Canberra has ended up with ethnic divisions and the local Canberra comp is still ethnic based. The Croatians and Italians just won't work together. Until they will there's no chance of Canberra getting a team. It's the same story with western sydney. Frank Lowy is getting revenge for his jewish teams being kicked out of the national league and sacrificed all those years ago. He's determined to put the new teams where there is no ethnic division. That rules out Canberra, Wollongong and Western Sydney. All the local leagues are still based on ethnic support.
