Now that the weather report is predicting 32 degrees minimum and highs in the low 50's, I'm wondering what skiing is like in those conditions; I'm pretty sure that's what everyone means by spring skiing! Are there any safe generalities that can be made about skiing Sugar Bowl in Spring conditions?
And while we're at it, I can't afford to eat at OB's every night when I'm passing through Truckee; are there any other affordable and good dinner options beside KFC?

Generalities about spring skiing at Sugar Bowl? 1) It's wonderful - follow the sun. 2) It's not spring yet.>

Truckee has maybe a hundred good restaurants - all costly. Stop at Lisa's Organic Market (west end of downtown strip - highly recommended,) pick up some locally baked bread, and some cheese, fruit, chips, dip, beer, and wine and eat whereever you are. Why pay for waiters and overhead?

Unless they've just lowered the bar so that more people can "ski corn", it has to freeze overnight and the good skiing comes as it thaws. So you're going to want it to be below 32, and then follow the sun as it warms the slope.

Well, my sbc yahoo weather report says Sugar Bowl will see a low of 33 on my two mornings up there and highs in the upper 50's. I guess that means I won't see the freeze thaw cycle you refer to. Still, I'll be on skis and I won't be at work!

Define Spring! I'll be wearing sunscreen and a t shirt; that's not Spring? Oh yeah, I'll probably wear some pants, too.
I will take your advice and give Lisa's a try. Sounds good!

If it's 33 and clear skies, it will still freeze, but the corn will be short lived.
