Snow just keeps coming - this latest dumpage, which the weather service projected as 2 to 7 inches max, is already at about 14 and still snowing.
Had a wonderful day today, even better than yesterday's wonderful day (isn't it nice when the wonderfulness just keeps piling itself higher and higher?) Just kept cruising the fresh run after run - even when the stuff was getting tracked up it remained eminently skiable. Against the interests of the commercial sector, I'm rooting for small crowds. We'll see. I suppose I better make my grocery run soon, before the supermarket crowds up with people buying supplies for spaghetti for 12, and 2 cases of bad Mercan lite beer.
For those interested (c.f. other arguments/discussions/threads) used the P-30s all day (relatively narrow, long, heavy, stiff boards) which were perfectly capable of BOTH powder porpoising and big ski high speed cranking, depending only on driver desires. Snow was so nice and the wind had filled everything in nicely, so didn't bottom out hardly ever. Didn't even bother with the Piste Stinx which are my usually deep snow skis - just stayed with GS boards driven fast. Yahoooooo...
Repeat: Yahoooooo...
I wish I could yodel. Yahooing is so 2004, and I'm aiming for 1955. Anyone willing to teach me?
