Anyone got any more?
10. Be courteous when standing in lift lines and try not to step on other people's equipment unless you've just smoked a bowl and can't f***ing see straight in which case its totally OK to stagger over, under and around said people.
11. Always try to "buddy up" with someone to fill each chair to the maximum capacity. This is so you can split apart at the last second to let you and your chick-ho ride one chair while your bro and his chick-ho ride another.
12. Skiing while intoxicated or stoned is against the law but 'shrooms are OK because they make you laugh.
13. Runs marked black diamond and double black diamond are for experts only but everyone knows you can get down them by skidding heelside.

This is all way too complicated. How about..."defer to telemarkers in all matters and locations, and buy them beer.

I had a good one today:
7c. If it's your first day on snow, go to the top and flail and fall your way down. When (not if) you hit people, declare "It's my first time on a board, OKAY?" and that'll fix everything, including hitting children.

My solution was to pick up their snowboards and when they saw that I
them - yell they could pick them up from ski patrol when they
explained how> their snowboards had 'runaway' I don't know how long it took them to> get down and to ski patrol. I hope it was the end of the day.
If you really did this, the BRAVO!!! I usually just spray them with snow...
Then they're being put to better use than I could've ever hoped for! I'm> really happy to hear that you like them.

We'll have to trade for a run up on the Real Mountain. It's coming up quickly. Missed your call, I've been bizy. And... I may not come back for a while when we head up. I may trek down the Inside Passage. I'll try calling tomorrow unless I go Dawn Patrol with Russ to Green's Basin. More face shots. Oh darn.

That's the beauty of non-lift assisted skiing...it's the tour that counts.

Summer.
And just as you near the top, a copter drops off a half dozen skiers to track up the snow ahead of you. At least that's what happened the one chance I had to ski from the little cottonwood to the big cottonwood canyon.

In article <j2ct11lrjllgc9dl99cfqjjsr8p4rsjllb@4ax.com>, AstroPax says...>
Fact of the matter is that there is room for helisking in the Wasatch,>even though you refuse to admit and/or accept it.
What are the grounds for deciding this? I believe they are political/good ol' boy network decisions. It's my land too. I have a right to use it just like everyone else. And I do write letters to let the FS know how I feel. As a result of letter writing, at least Sun/Mon are fairly quiet.
Oh well, might as well look at the 'turds as the 8th ski area in the Central Wasatch (9th if you want to count the Interconnect). Cram in a few more lifts and it's one big ski area--and it's not that far away.
Off to ski Weber Canyon this weekend...probably corn.

I never denied sayng that. But you didn't answer the question.>
Regardless of what I have said, it's Alta's decision, not mine.>> Like I said, and I am saying it again, I could care less.>
You say that now, but you didn't before. Moving target.
Well, whatever I said, my intent was to say that it is an Alta management call on the snowboard ban. And right now they don't allow snowboards...but I don't really care.
So I mis-spoke, but at least I can admit it.
Instead of writing "Don't have any problem with snowboarders at Alta, as long as they are on skis", maybe I should have wrote "Alta doesn't have a problem with snowboarders at Alta, as long as they are on skis."
Furthermore, if I was so hung up on this anti-boarding kick, why would>> I even ski at places that allow snowboards?>
Furthermore, if I was so hung up on this anti-heli kick, why would>I even ski at places that allow heliskiers?
But I'm not the one actively advocating that snowboards be banned from specifc areas, or anywhere for that matter, or that the snowboard ban continue indefinitely. I DON'T CARE!
However, you are the one that is advocating that helicopters not be allowed to drop anywhere within the NPC, period.
Why would I have an Alta-Bird season pass?>
Because you are a PKB hypocrite.
I'm a PKB hypocrite for having a season pass?
Weak!
Actually, I think that you are more of a PKB in this arena.
Unlike you, I'm not the one that denigrates Alpine skiers for standing in lift lines and riding lifts, while at the same time skiing inbounds and riding lifts at Solitude from time to time.
Nuther question. Would my point be more or less valid if I lived in>>>Kansas? Or are you just jealous? Just askin'.>
Irrelevant "what if" hypothetical question; you don't live in Kansas,>> you live a stones throw from the NPC...where you want *all* heliskiing>> banned.>
Yes, a hypothetical question you have no answer for. >
And please show where I said I wanted to ban all heliskiing. Straw man.
No, that isn't what I said, above. I said that you want to ban helisking within the NPC. Read the quote.
Now who is moving the target? PKB:

Sounds like you just can't get along with helo's *anywhere* within the Wasatch, period.
But that's O.K., to each his own. I won't hold it against you.
Well, I guess if you're going to play the literal "head" game. I don't>have a yard, and the NPC is in front of my house.>
Gotta go. It's an NPC helifree day. Gotta take advantage of the peace>and quiet. Have a great day using your pass and standing in lines. It>looked pretty busy at Alta yesterday from Davenport. While Flannagan's>offered up faceshots.>
Your favorite NIMBY,
Sounds like fun. I hope you get some good turns in. Looks like a nice sunny day. I'm out the door in a few minutes to meet a female friend for a mid-mountain picnic lunch. Wish me luck ;>)
