Ace (and of course anyone else willing to help),
Am heading to Basel airport (French side) this Saturday and then driving
down to Grindelwald. A little while ago you kindly offered an update
nearer
the time with the latest traffic / best route etc.
Indeed. At that time I wasn't sure whether the 'new' motorway link
would be open. It now is, which means that you join the French
motorway at the airport then just follow it across the Swiss border
(where they will check the car for, and make you buy if it doesn't
have, the Swiss motorway 'Vignette' - 40CHF) and all the way through
Basel.
From the maps looks like it's a fairly straight forward case of jumping on
the motorway, and then heading towards Bern / Interlaken.
Yupp. Coming through Basel is now simple, with no turns off the
motorway (i.e. keep left all the way through). After that just follow
signs, as you say, for Bern, then Interlaken, then Grindelwald.
We arrive around 11:30, are there any major roadwords / congestion it
might
be best to avoid?
Nope. They are still working on the roads in Basel, so the new link is
mostly one lane, but even at peak times it doesn't normally cause
problems. Of course, you will be hitting a lot of traffic on the
Saturday, so the Swiss motorways will all be quite busy. Even so, I
doubt it will take you more than two hours to get there.

Great. Thanks for the help!
