I think the manufacturer's guidelines are just that, guidelines. ISI 2 is half-jumps (and other things) and ISI 4 is full-rotation jumps (and other things), so I don't think ISI 4 is necessarily going to wear your boots out more quickly than ISI 2 would. If the skates are working for you and you and your coach feel they're technically adequate for what you're doing, I wouldn't be too concerned.

That also depends on how often you skate.
For what it's worth, my Riedell Gold Medallion/Wilson blade lasted me about a year and a half. I went for Bronze Stars next... and that lasted me about a couple of years. (Should have quit right after hitting the second year mark. The third year (which was last year) was when I had all these injuries with my calf and I'm willing to bet they were all associated with my boots wearing out.
I'm now on custom purple Harlicks and I LOVE my boots!!!
Cheers, Joanna

When I skated in FS4, way back in the dark ages, I recall having to do a flip jump, a loop jump and a sow; forward and back spirals, a forward sit spin, a forward camel spin and a footwork series that included all eight three turns. I opened that program with a huge flip jump which got everybody's attention. My skates were never a problem then; I was skating on SP Teri customs with Wilson Gold Seals attached, the same combination of boots and blades that I have now.

IIRC FS4 is pretty much the same now, except that the salchow has been moved down a level (to FS3 I think) and been replaced by the half-loop.
