Rollerblade equip question

C B George 22 March 2005 03:15:04
Does anyone know the size screw that holds the brake pad in a "Rollerblade
STD" brake pads to the "Rollerblade Macroblade" skate?

This is the style pad where a screw (and presumably a washer) go vertically
in the brake pad and attach to a nut in a plastic housing.

Reply here please.

 M6 x 40 I think, but it's been a while.

Just took one out of the package of replacement brake pads for my
Macroblades.

Inch system instead of metric. I used a metric thread gage and a matching
nut to test..

It is #10-24 x 3/4" fillister head. Fillister heads have a very shallow
curved head that is wider than most other types. A pan head or hex washer
head may work well or other head type with a washer.
M6 x 40 I think, but it's been a while.

FYI, as a frame of reference.

M6 ~ 1/4"
metric pitches are in MM/thread M6 is typically 1 pitch

A good place for screw thread (metric, inch, British, pipe) identification
is the Maryland Metrics web page (http://mdmetric.com/tech/tic1e.htm). The
"Section A" chart handles most sizes that are skate related.

They also sell a good inexpensive (31.99) digital caliper (inch/metric) and
metric thread checker at http://mdmetric.com/mosale/mosale.htm .
The $1.99 plastic caliper (they give it away with a larger order) is
absolutely worthless.
