I believe: this can cause a sore back. Your muscles are stronger in a shorter position. Thus, keeping the head and chest vertical while lifting the back leg to an arch will shorten the muscles. Lock the arch. Tilt to the spiral. Practice off ice lots. Always bend at the waist afterwards to stretch the muscles out. Immediately afterwards when training off ice.
