Right. My "try them on" is easier said than done. Like where I live,
most skating stuff isn't available. Some people have to take a
chance ordering online.

It's a truly wonderful sport, but skate availability/select­ion might
be a sticking point these days. At least skate sizing is the only
real problem since the Internet works for all the other difficult
to find stuff.

I would get in touch with the Washington Area Roadskaters at
www.skatedc.org.
They will know if you have specialty stores in your area that have better
skates.
If you were in the Minneapolis area, I could point you to two or more that
would have them and one that has higher level racing skates. I expect that
the people in WAR can help you in the DC area.

They have a web page (http://www.skatedc­.org/resources/buysk­ates.html) that
lists a couple local stores and our local racing skate dealer as mail order
(to them Adam's Inline is mail order).

 The frame on my Rollerblade Lightenings broke and less than a year and a
half. i.e., at the front bolt on my right skate
