The proof of the pudding is the fact that we now use the term 'Boydian' to
describe desperate, implausible calculations to prove that your team is
unbeatable.
Tbh, I don't know why he bothers, Oz aren't doing that badly.

If you want a name for it, the nearest one I can think of is Liza Minnelli.

Who defeated New Zealand in 2004?

Nobody.

Who defeated England in 2004?

New Zealand 2-0, Australia 2-0, Wales 1-0, France 1-0 and Ireland 1-0.

Spot the difference.

You used the word "defeated" instead of "unbeaten"?

And what is a team that has not been defeated?

Unbeaten.

The truth will out.

I'm much more comfortable with the "defeated" form, and appreciated
the difference. I was delighted you seemed to have moved on.

If as often happens I'm mistaken and you made a slip changing words,
never mind.

Slip? Slip? What slip? I was merely using two different words to say the
same thing.

One does not "move on" from accuracy.

Another Humpty job. Your "accuracy" is my "ambiguity" (if I'm feeling
unusually charitable).

You're entirely welcome to your opinion, Alice. I would not dream of
telling you that you are right or wrong.

Good. If you start dreaming of me, I'd be very concerned indeed if in> your shoes.>

I'd be very concerned if you were in my shoes too. Get your own, you

Before you criticize a man, walk a mile in his shoes. That way, when
you do criticize him, you'll be a mile away and have his shoes.

"in your shoes" is n/a here. Patrick doesn't wear shoes since he
received medical advice that they were causing him too much damage.
Another dentist confirmed this.

Neither can one "move on" from a place they haven't been.
