How long before Maurice picks up the phone and speaks to Millward?
Well Millward certainly made it clear on tonight's Sky pre-match chat that he was open to offers, although he was careful to say that he wasn't after putting anyone out of a job.
Having seen Wigan do this same performance yet again of racing into early lead only to run out of ideas and confidence by the second half, I do wonder if they will make a scapegoat of Betts. Millward has been successful at St.Helens, but not over the last couple of seasons - I also think that the Wigan team have to question whether they are really interested in playing for 80 minutes or not. However it is clear that Betts isn't getting the performances out of the players - which *is* the job of the coach.

Moran's problem is the first couple of years at the Bronco's he was able to lead the line for an average team not expected to do much. Last year he was not so effective as teams began to read his game and mark him out of the match. This appears to be continuing at Wigan.

At the risk of being wise after the event, I always thought that Dennis was probably not the man the Wigan needed. To me, he was always a flair player for the Broncos, rather than an organiser. You could see how lost they were when they had to play without Jim Dymock.
It's sad to hear Dennis being booed when he's being asked to take on a role that he's not cut out for. But it was his choice to go to Wigan. -- Arthur

Fair comment about Betts. Is there any news on Mike Gregory's battle with illness. The Gregory-Betts coach-assistant team seemed a good one while Gregory was well, and Betts might be better suited to going back to being another coach's right-hand man

Fair comment about Betts.
True, but I was talking about the other Dennis (Moran). Must make myself clearer in future. -- Arthur

Hello Arthur, it was fairly clear who you meant after all. I must slow down and not read things in a state of excitement. Apols
