Why not just limit the number of overseas All Blacks in the team? Say the squad of 22 cannot have more than 2 overseas based AB's? And also they must have played three seasons of pro rugby in NZ as well. So where's the "brilliant idea" then?
Under those criteria you could end up with neither of NZ's best players selected. Like, who wants to hang around Dungedin for three years when you could be far better paid somewhere civilised. Or England.

| NZ v AUS: assistant referees Paul 12:58:57 |
| | Obviously just calling them "assistant referees" is no guarantee of their competence. Bolabiu looked as if he'd never even seen a rugby match before. His performance was an absolute disgrace and he should never be allowed near a rugby pitch again.

| National coaching questions.... Didgerman 12:22:32 |
| | I can't seem to find the thread about keeping coaches in their own nation. It seems to have vanished in the ocean 'oh thank god for that' threads.... Anyway, what were we saying? 'Deans to coach AB's, return home as soon as possible', something like that. No doubt Bully et al will be continuing vociferously with their demands until the end of the TriN and beyond.

| 2008 Tipping...rd 23 RESULTS Gordon Murray 19:50:33 |
| | Struth!
This was always going to be a humdinger of a round, and very, very crucial for all those who had pretensions at the top of the Ladder.
But watching today`s games was like being on a rollercoaster!
Harlequins, eg, stormed into a 22-0 half-time lead against Bulls, only to find themselves 22-24 down with only about 12 minutes left.
But they won 36-24
The Cas-Huddersfield game was also just as much a see-saw, with Cas coming from behind to end up 14 - 14 at half-time before Huddersfield eventually ran away with it and even Saints, 30-0 up at half-time wobbled a bit in the second half
So, coupled with the earlier games, anyone who managed to get much out of this weekend was always going to be a hero
.... stand up PHIL L, the only person to get into double figures
...***Tipster of t`Week*** and leader of the Ladder !
A tremendous achievement, best shown by the fact that the next highest scorers, Alf King and Lloyd, were only on 8 pts
This of course means that Phil L and Lloyd have pulled further and further away from the rest of us. But it`s not insurmountable!
Anyone fancy giving it a go? See you next week then!

| 3N predictions Uncle Bully 12:21:01 |
| | Well we've seen all 3 team now so should have enough to make a educated guess.
Aus have played two good games, but I'm not concvinced that this is enough. They have definitely improved, but they've all been at home, and when was the last time they won away? NZ. Would have to win in Aus and SA to take the title. Beating the wallabies in Brisbane is a maybe, SA in SA, no. SA. Only have to win their remaining 3 home games to take it, must be favourites at this stage.

Italy will win Euro 08 and it is called football not soccer old boy ! I do hope so. I've put my money on them already, nearly 7/1 onBetfair. There's a reason for that - a lot has happened since 2006... Ha ha, it looks like you know as much about football as you do about rugby. I tried to warn you but would you listen? Italy were already over the hill and gathering speed in 2006, now it's just a question of whether they manage to keep their arses on the mat to the bottom of the helter skelter... UD I put 10p on them to win 4-2 last night, while they were 2 down. I should've played the banker and gone Holland to win 3 nil and 4 nil, but I figured I could handle a 10p loss for a 175-1 shot. Poor Evans, will he ever learn.....

| | Oooerrrrr! Warrington did it, they beat Leeds.
That has a massive effect on the league table.
And it also has a massive effect on our own Ladder.
Both Lloyd and Phil L tipped Wire, and so pull further ahead at the top....but with Phil L getting a correct margin, is it too early to say he has wrapped things up???
Nah, don`t be daft. To quote Stevo, there`s a load more twists and turns to come yet!
Isn`t there?
