We hear Chambers could be signing for Cas Tigers. What do you all think about this news? Would like to have seen how he would have done on a night like this at Knowsley Road. Maybe Saints should have gone in for him as a replacement for Francis Meli.

Saints would do better with me instead of Meli, with young Vicky in for Talau !!!
Seriously, it's a strange one. Monday is April fools day, will Cas end up as the fools? I don't particularly like Chambers' attitude, he comes across as an unpleasant, arrogant person, but that could be an advantage. Could he handle a big hit? Who knows.

There's been a lot of dismissive comments about his ability to take a hit but from what I've read during his stint in NFL Europa he surprised a lot of people with his attitude towards the physical and tactical side of the game. It was a foot injury and then the NFL's decision to close down NFL Europa that did for him there.

I agree though, it's a strange one.

Ah well, if nothing else, at least it`s brought a bit of publicity to
Rugby League,
no bad thing in that respect!

Not the first however.. Berwyn Jones (1940 - 2007), a winger for Wakefield Trinity, Bradford Northern, St Helens and Great Britain, was known as one of the fastest men to play rugby league.
Jones had a brief career in rugby union with hometown club Rhymney, but it was in athletics that he looked set to excel until switching to rugby league. He won the bronze medal in the men's 4x100 metres relay at the 1962 European Championships in Belgrade, Yugoslavia, alongside Alfred Meakin, Ronald Jones, and David Jones. He had been touted as a potential Olympian for 1968 when he was invited to try out for Wakefield in 1964. He had been a member of the Great Britain 4x110 yards relay team and a British record-holder (10.3 seconds) and champion over 100 yards.
Playing under the ironic alias 'Walker', he impressed for Wakefield in reserve team games against Huddersfield and Doncaster and soon took to the sport. Within nine months he was playing for Great Britain and scored on his international debut against France in Perpignan.
He was selected for the 1966 tour of Australia and New Zealand but did not make the Test team due to the form of Barrow's Bill Burgess and Geoff Wrigglesworth of Leeds.
He moved to Bradford in 1967/68, where he was joined by Wrigglesworth. The pair formed a potent right wing/centre partnership. Jones scored 26 tries that season, his best haul.
He moved on again to St Helens in 1969 but scored just two tries before announcing a premature retirement.
He died in January 2007 after a battle with motor neurone disease.

Nor was he the first.
From Dave Hadfield in The Independent:
"But the best-remembered of all is McDonald Bailey, the fastest man in the world at the time, who made one petrified appearance for Leigh in 1953 before deciding that rugby league was not for him. The near-15,000 who turned up out of curiosity agreed."
Maybe a closer fit to Chambers career than Brawny Jones was?

He brought a fair bit of publicity to UK Athletics recently!
SirBob
True, lol
But hopefully once bitten twice shy

I certainly don't think he's *that* daft, is he???
Reading back my post above though I've just noticed I mention his *attitude* rather than his actual ability. There's been a couple of NFL Europa "sources" that have now come out and claimed he just couldn't catch a ball. Doesn't bode well.
Could be however that the media are looking to put an entirely negative slant on it - reliable sources are quite often entirely the product of a lazy journalist.
