Hi,
I always lurk around in here after big games and never contribute, not being as rugby savvy as some.
After the game I was expecting hords of irate Irishmen yelling at the ref in this group, and instead I find some moderate rugby aficionados having enjoyed the game -just as I did- and lamenting the fact their team could not hold the score until the end -just as I would have done in such situation.
I totally agree with Dave L about the advantage/knock-on that could/would have led to an Irish try. It was clear in the replay. But the ref did look embarrassed of his decision afterwards and it wouldn't have been shocking should he hadn't blow the whistle, at least in the spirit of the game.

Very elegant of your coach indeed. Thumbs up.
I love Ireland and the Irish (if I haven't had daughters I would have called my kids Guinness and Smithwick's (*)), I'm sure you'll breeze by the roastbeefs at Croke. What a game...
Cheers for your sportmanship. I wouldn't mind a tie win at the end of the tournament.
