Haha, load of crap. 6 was good, the rest were the result of lame tackling {relegation anyone?} Where was England's try in the last RWC? Pretty bloody good I thought.....

Wouldn't have been allowed these days. Penalty for head high tackle on JPR at the start, NZ yellow card down to 14. If play had gone on another head high tackle on JPR, another NZ yellow down to 13

Ah, but they're used to it.
Everything is so perfect with NZ that they only get yellow cards so the player can do their own private Haka.

I don't know, Varndell left Loti wafting at air. Sackey put in a few good steps, even Balshaw legged it off one foot. Just got to play them and put them away at speed......

Duckham, Spencer, Slemen and Guscott were sheer class. For the most part however the rest of them, from about 75 onwards were made to look good by the people around them.

As the clock counts down, and while we all expect the results of RWC 2007 to go be yet another glittering and glorious day in the annals of New Zealand rugby, the doubts engendered by years of former lesser achievements at this shop window of rugby football, will be gnawing at the entrails of the jingoistic Fanboyz.
The rest of us, particularly those whose national teams have pulled off this great feat, will be poised to laugh our guts to aching and back, if this forgone conclusion doesn't actually happen. I think the 2007 competition could be more a celebration about who loses than who wins.
Whatever happens, we will get plenty of chances to have a laugh at the pre-match slitty throat prancing gesticulations!

Maybe next time eh - or not?
On current form (and let's at least use that instead of pie in the sky speculation), NZ will have the best chance to win 2007. NZ also have a home RWC in 2011. There is a chance that we'll lose both, but there's also a chance we'll win both. I'm pretty sure I know the reaction if we lose, but are you ready for the other scenario?

Hi all!
Merry Christmas to everybody on r.s.s.i!
I hope you have someone to celebrate with. For those who don't celebrate Christmas the best wishes all the same.
I will be doing the usual xmas dinner with my family, hosted this year by my aunt who has recently moved. In mostly Norwegian east country traditional way with pork roast as the main meal, caramel pudding for dessert, and present opening afterwards this evening, the 24 December.
Good thing ice has formed on our lakes this week and we will be doing a Christmas Day ice skate on Harestuvannet at noon tomorrow! Got to burn off that caramel pudding...
Not many boat racers still monitor this newsgroup but to those of you that do.. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year ................. Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse; The stockings were hung by the chimney with care, In hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there; The children were nestled all snug in their beds, While visions of sugar-plums danced in their heads; And mamma in her 'kerchief, and I in my cap, Had just settled down for a long winter's nap, When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter, I sprang from the bed to see what was the matter.
Away to the window I flew like a flash, Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash. The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow Gave the lustre of mid-day to objects below, When, what to my wondering eyes should appear, But a miniature sleigh, and eight tiny reindeer, With a little old driver, so lively and quick, I knew in a moment it must be St. Nick. More rapid than eagles his coursers they came, And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name;
Now, Dasher! now, Dancer! Now, Prancer and Vixen! On, Comet! On Cupid! On, Donner and Blitzen! To the top of the porch! to the top of the wall! Now dash away! dash away! dash away all!
As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly, When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky, So up to the house-top the coursers they flew, With the sleigh full of toys, and St. Nicholas too. And then, in a twinkling, I heard on the roof The prancing and pawing of each little hoof. As I drew in my hand, and was turning around, Down the chimney St. Nicholas came with a bound.
He was dressed all in fur, from his head to his foot, And his clothes were all tarnished with ashes and soot; A bundle of toys he had flung on his back, And he looked like a peddler just opening his pack. His eyes -- how they twinkled! His dimples how merry! His cheeks were like roses, his nose like a cherry! His droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow, And the beard of his chin was as white as the snow;
The stump of a pipe he held tight in his teeth, And the smoke it encircled his head like a wreath; He had a broad face and a little round belly, That shook, when he laughed like a bowlful of jelly. He was chubby and plump, a right jolly old elf, And I laughed when I saw him, in spite of myself; A wink of his eye and a twist of his head, Soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread;
He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work, And filled all the stockings; then turned with a jerk, And laying his finger aside of his nose, And giving a nod, up the chimney he rose; He sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a whistle, And away they all flew like the down of a thistle. But I heard him exclaim, ere he drove out of sight, "Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good-night!"

My grandchildren gave me some Sponge Bob golf balls to go with the Builder Bob balls I got last year, and another ball marked "GRANDPA". I got a sort of golf Christmas ornament, and another electronic score keeper/bag tag. But they were proud of themselves, so I was happy go get them.
My wife got me a playing lesson and Men's Club membership. Nothing else was golf related.

This was almost certainly my worst Christmas ever, but at least one of my boys enjoyed it, and even though the other said Santa came up a little short this year, I think he enjoyed it, too. Besides, my sister mailed some Toys R Us cards, so maybe he can get what Santa forgot.

According to Willie Christmas started early and ran into the New Year - which he is still celebrating
Many Thanks for your kindness and hospitality to the Scots contingent during the Bicenetennial Celebrations - it was much appreciated.

My pleasure. Did you get your bicentennial pin?

even with my super hi-viz painted blades and offensively bright
cycling top (a ron hill special, it is positively radioactive in
colour)
"Offensively bright", what a good description: I always enjoy your contributions here. I must get such a top for offensive cycling on gloomy days.
And indeed, I hope all my rowing friends have a happy and peaceful turn-of-the-year holiday. The great mid-winter festival of commerce is almost over, hooray. The days _are_ getting longer where I live (sorry, Taniwha, Jonny and other Southern Cross friends) and I do promise to get back onto the erg real soon now.

It's almost time to start the Daytona countdown!
Naw, Buffalo will have some more shoveling to keep you busy
The odds favor snow in this region--especially while Erie remains warm and unfrozen. :o(
But--for today--we're beating the odds. Warm, rainy, some green, green grass showing up out on the lawn between the drifts.
~52 days to Daytona, according to Jayski.

those who dare, scoring last year's pre-season picks
I've known my score for a long time.
Last year's pick for Champion, Edwards = 0.
That Toyota would win 3 times in 2007 = 0.
I didn't do a Chase list.

We do preseason picks!! ALRIGHT!! How many moral victory points are they
worth?
People who try to count Moral Victory Points have not yet grasped their true worth.
Their value is beyond all telling.
