Yep that's the long term forecast. See; Given it is always colder at night you just have to love these TV "marketing-geniuses" who want to put night test matches on In Wellington, Christhurch and Dunedin in the middle of a NZ winter. Has anybody explained the concept of product to these A-grade knob-heads? grant. ---

| NZRFU KOs Cowan Kees Echo 11:30:30 |

http://www.stuff.co.nz/4603822a10.html
Cowan cleared to play for ABs LATEST: Disgraced All Black Jimmy Cowan has been cleared to take his place in the squad for Saturday's test against South Africa.
However, he has been fined $3000 and ordered to cease drinking as a condition of his employment after a NZRU misconduct hearing in Wellington.
News of Cowan's "punishment" emerged after a hearing that went on late into this afternoon. Earlier All Blacks coach Graham Henry had spoken of his "disappointment" and "annoyance" over the continued bad behaviour of his second-string halfback who has been involved in three disorderly conduct incidents in the last few months.
The New Zealand Rugby Union confirmed it had demanded Cowan stop drinking as a condition of his ongoing employment and said this was his "last chance" to get his act together.
As well as his fine, he was also ordered to seek alcohol counselling after three charges had been laid for disorderly behaviour in recent weeks. The union confirmed Cowan was now facing three charges after the latest was laid today by police in Dunedin.
"I thank the NZRU, my All Black team-mates, All Black management, my family and friends for their ongoing support. I'm very fortunate to be given another chance. This is my problem - nobody else's.
"I'm currently in the process of taking steps to fix it," said a contrite Cowan outside the NZRU building at the end of his hearing.
All Blacks manager Darren Shand said the NZRU considered a range of penalties and determined that addressing Cowan's alcohol abuse was the most relevant action: "Jimmy must change his behaviour if he wants to be a professional rugby player in New Zealand. We have made it a condition of his employment that he stop drinking altogether. This is his last chance."
He added: "We take the matter very seriously and considered other penalties. However, in light of Jimmy's willingness to acknowledge his problem and seek help for it we decided that what was most important that we address the problem openly and deal with it rather than pushing it to one side."
Cowan's compliance with all conditions of the agreement reached today will be monitored by the NZRU with formal reviews scheduled periodically.
The halfback remains with the All Blacks squad and will be the reserve halfback for Saturday's Tri-Nations opener in Wellington.

Jeez, I'd even have Meg back at this rate :o) I saw Weepu in the Jap game and he must easily be one of the top halfbacks in the country. They've recalled Masoe, how long until Weepu gets the call up? Be interesting to see what sanctions they pile on Cowan for his latest hillbilly run in with the law.
BTW, how's the weather down there in Dunedin, Ashy? Crap. It's been a fine, sunny winter in general, but right now it's wet and cold. How's it at your end? Fucking freezing. And wet. And I'm surrounded by Cantabs.

Rugby Sevens is a perfect fit for the Olympic Games
Help Rugby Return to the Olympics
The IRB is asking the Rugby community to come together as it continues the drive to have Rugby reintroduced into the Olympic Games sporting programme.
Players and supporters are urged to spread the word that Rugby Sevens should be included in the Olympic Games by responding to the International Olympic Committee's Virtual Congress by following the below link.
*CLICK HERE TO VISIT THE IOC VIRTUAL CONGRESS>>>* <http://www.2009congress.olympic.org/en/Pages/default.aspx>
Presently, the IRB is providing the IOC with considerable information on why Rugby should be reincluded to the Olympic Games. The IRB believes the ideal form of Rugby for Olympic inclusion is Rugby Sevens which has a proven and very successful record in similar multi-sports Games such as the Commonwealth Games. The IOC will vote on which sports to include in the Olympic Games in Copenhagen, Denmark in October 2009.

Look closely at the England try scored to win the game against Australia - at 5:15 in this video Now in my opinion the nr 11 was offside, in front of the English player who charged down the kick. When a player kicks or passes the ball, the opponent is put onside. (or something very like that.) The try should have been awarded. Well it was awarded - but the scorer was definitely offside. refs make mistakes and this was one of them. cheers, AMtt Nope, 11.3 confirms.

| Re: USA Rugby Announces All-American Squad for 2008 New Zealand Tour Will 12:46:13 |
| | Mistake Corrected:
The following would be be my explanation in the short form. First, this is a Collegiate team. At this level of play in the USA the "All" of All-American would mean that they had received this designation as being the best players at their position in all of the USA (America includes both North and South America plus islands and "regions") . No Club players would have been considered or evaluated even though it is conceivable that some of these players play for Club Seven's teams when they are out of school in the summer.

| WP/Bulls Spizz 08:33:56 |
| | Typical North/South battle but with one pleasing aspect missing all too often in recent years. A win for Province. I thought the Bulls defended very well though and if not for Hilton Lobberts and his yellow card 12 minutes from the end, it could have been a different story. Lobberts is a liability, the Bulls players must be gutted to work so hard for 70 minutes only to have this ox come on as a sub and throw the game for them.
Province remained patient playing the game mainly in the Bulls half and two 'soft' tries gave the Bulls what looked like another win in Cape Town. The Province forwards stuck to the task though and really won the battle on the ground as the tables well and truly turned on recent seasons. The backs continued to enjoy lots of possesion and thankfully eventually scored two tries near the death with the Bulls down to 14 men.
Although the scrum was a mess and we desperately need two props, it's good to beat the Bulls up front and come away with a win. Bragging rights are ours again.

There was only one correct score that went to Lloyd
The table shows him 6 points clear of Phil L, and now 12 points clear of Gordon.
As Lloyd gets further away from me, I`m reminded of Willie Wobbler...the Scottish Janitor in "The Simpsons".
One episode showed him with his arm down a toilet-bowl annoyingly shouting "C`m`ere...ye slippery wee customer"
