Crime Story 1st season DVD set....

 For you Michael Mann fans (producer/writer for Miami Vice), the 1st season
of Crime Story is out; I got my set from Amazon.com last week, and it's even
better than I remember. From gratuitous senseless violence to well written,
tight multiple episode arcs, this is probably the best show ever on TV.
Where Miami Vice is dated (even though I loved the 80's), the early 1960's
setting of Crime Story wears well - it doesn't seem to be as out-of-date as
Vice (I have the 1st season of Miami Vice on DVD) and the episodes of Crimes
Story seem to be better written than Vice. Granted, Crimes Story lasted
only 2 seasons - maybe Vice fans were wanting to see a clone of Vice, but
Crime Story was a different animal. It didn't help that Crime Story was
placed on Tuesday nights against ABC's Moonlighting and CBS's Matlock - both
powerhouse programs - before being placed on Fridays after Vice in it's
second season - unfortunately, Vice was wearing thin at that time also.

Do yourself a favor and try out Crime Story - who knows, maybe they'll make
a movie with Adam Sandler playing Michael Torello.....
