Sounds blue to me.
Yeah, but when they do those bar graphs and stuff on TV Labour are always red. I want the Green Party to get a shitload of votes, just to see if they use, y'know... green.
When I first read the subject line, I figured it was talking about B Brian Blair. Didn't he win some small office like "county commissioner" in Florida? Or am I thinking about some other 1980s AWA/WWF jobber?

Oddly enough - and ViNNY or NiGHTS (hm....) can correct me on this - I believe Blair's Labour Party is actually considered to be on the *liberal* end of British politics. Whether that is a function of different definitions of 'liberal,' or just evidence that you don't have to be a conservative dunce attempting to perpetuate a defacto theocracy to conduct an unjustified war based on lies and poor judgement, I can't say.

Labour are red, the colour which in Europe nearly always represents socialism.

The Lib Dems are "American left" - socially liberal on most issues including going as far as legalising soft drugs etc. They want to impose a 50% rate of income tax on people who make six figures, which is a sure way to drive rich people to offshore tax havens.
Labour always used to be old school left - nationalised industry, controlled by the unions, extreme left wing socialism. Naturally this made them totally unelectable until Tony Blair realised the best way to get elected was to mimic the policies of moderate Conservativism. This has the knock on effect of forcing the Tories to be more right wing just to be visibly different to the dead-centre Labour party and makes the Blues less electable.

Blair's no liberal. He's a moderate conservative by deed, in charge of a party that formerly stood for socialism but now stands for whatever they think might win votes.

The U.S. is the only place I know where the "conservative" party = red> and the "liberal" party = blue.>
That has only been since either the 1998 or 2000 elections. Before then it was Republican=blue, Democrat=Red.

It's a tool of the right wing media to associate all left wing politics with Soviet Russia that they've abandoned now communism has fallen in the eastern bloc.

Well, sure. However, unlike in Europe, it only matters when the TV networks are putting up electoral maps. Nobody overhere says "I must wear a blue t-shirt when I go to the polls!!!" We save that sort of loyalty for sports teams.
