More on Hulk Hogan and his desire to wrestle Austin, Fire Pro Wrestling coming to PS2, more Submitted by Mr. Tito on Friday, April 29, 2005 at 6:03 PM EST
-As I've reported before, the WWE is in high gear to hype Hulk Hogan as being apart of this Sunday's Backlash Pay Per View. In today's edition of the Baltimore Sun, there was an article in the features section of the paper and/or webpage. The story is a basic hype piece of Hogan's career while hyping up his Pay Per View appearance, for it's his first match since undergoing hip replacement surgery last year.
Hogan, though, as a reoccurring theme in many articles lately, stressed that he wants to have a match with Stone Cold Steve Austin before Hogan finally retires for good. Austin, though, hasn't wrestled for more than 2 years due to his chronic neck/spinal problems. Hogan stated that the match-up would be "the Geritol match of all time". This dream match has been brought up lately with Hogan and the WWE, despite the fact that there was real life heat between Hogan and Austin due to Austin's departure from WCW in 1994 possibly due to Hogan's influence on Eric Bischoff, Austin's ECW parodies of Hogan, and Austin reportedly refusing to work with Hogan in 2002 when Hogan came back to the WWE (hence, Rock reportedly got the Wrestlemania 18 match).
-Fire Pro Wrestling, a hardcore favorite video game of wrestling fans, will make its return to Playstation 2 during sometime in August. The gaming series was apparently retired, but obviously, there was some interest to bring the game back to the states.
-NWA-TNA superstar, Sonny Siaki, is reportedly taking Chris Candido's death really hard. Candido was reportedly a likeable personality and probably made friends fast in TNA. It seems that the whole industry is taking Candido's death hard.

It's strange, but I can imagine the final match of Hogan, against Austin, being the end of an era, and even seeing a lot of current fans walk away from pro wrestling. That may be the closure for a lot of people..at least until it gets great again..or another "Hogan" breaks thru
I think even if I stop watchin' it I'd tune in now & again to see whats happenin.
