Boycott KFC!

Johnny Nitro~! 27 April 2005 02:57:20
NEW YORK (AP) - Pamela Anderson has a beef with Colonel Sanders. The former
"Baywatch" star is calling for a boycott of KFC, the People for the Ethical
Treatment of Animals (PETA) announced Tuesday. Anderson narrates a new
5-minute video produced by the animal rights group that documents the
mistreatment of chickens.

"I'm asking people to boycott KFC until the company demands that its
suppliers stop crippling chickens and scalding them alive," Anderson said in
a statement. "No animals should have to suffer this way, whether they're
cats or dogs or chickens."

A 30-second version of the video will be made into TV and radio ads that
PETA will spend $100,000 to place in major media markets, the group said.
The video, in which Anderson says the secret recipe to KFC chicken is
cruelty, can be viewed at http://www.KentuckyFriedCruelty.com, a PETA Web
site.

The video features footage shot last June recording alleged mistreatment of
birds at a Pilgrim's Pride Corp. plant in Moorefield, W.Va. The plant is a
KFC supplier.

Yum! Brands, the parent company of KFC, disputes the claims of mistreatment.

"We have an independent panel of outside experts who set our high
standards," Yum! Vice President Jonathan Blum has said. "They are the same
standards that all our competitors use to insure human treatment around the
country."

The 37-year-old actress, a vegetarian, and other celebrities - including
Russell Simmons and the Beastie Boys - have previously joined PETA campaigns
against KFC. Anderson has also appeared in anti-fur billboards.

I saw some of that video on one of the nightly news broadcasts. They
were throwing them against the walls and drop kicking them like they
were footballs.

Gene Shitsky works there too? I guess he don't like chickens either.

Neither did the guys in the video, apparently.

yeah, there's a difference between "killing animals for food" and

I am boycotting KFC... for their new hidden $3.50 "service charge"
(above and beyond their delivery charge which they also add) that they
tag you with for the privilege of being allowed to phone in your
order.

We're adding a little something to this month's sales contest. As you all know,
first prize is a Cadillac Eldorado. Anybody want to see second prize? Second
prize is a set of steak knives. Third prize is you're fired.

Johnny Nitro~! knelt and kissed my pinky ring before declaring:

<snip>

Why KFC when there's a perfectly good Popeye's right down the highway? And
the ones in Louisiana use real cayenne. I guess I'm boycotting by default.

All I have to say is that the animals we're sharing the Earth with are
getting a pretty lousy deal. Extinction threatening countless species and
the one's that are served up on our dinner tables have to endure a living
hell before they are not so mercifully put out of their misery.

Ain't humanity great?

That sickens me. They're going to bruise the tender and delicious flesh!
