Disco was the first indication that the music industry took the musical taste of women (and gays) and others with NO TASTE seriously. Disco didn't die; It evolved to the point where it's become teen pop hacks and rappers. -Rich

Disco died not because of racism, it died for the same reason any other "fad" dies- the market was oversaturated, it got played out, and people got sick of it.

The question isn't did the Bee Gees enjoy success as they switched to disco. The question is did they enjoy more success than black and latino acts.
