-Rumors have it that both Linda McMahon and Shane McMahon were recently spotted at the NBC Universal Office at Rockefeller Center in New York. The reason this is so interesting is the fact that Universal is the parent company for USA Networks and it has becoming more and more likely that WWE may end up back on USA Networks and an announcement about this could be made in the next few months.

YES!!! WWE and USA go so far back. They should have never left USA.

Spike hasn't been bad to them. I think the move would greatly

Spike pretty much redid their entire format for the WWE.
If they do leave for USA, Spike TV is so screwed.....although they still got CSI (which quite often does better ratings that crap on WB and UPN)

JC's take:
5 years ago, Raw & Heat left USA for TNN (Spike). The shift guaranteed Raw would be on every Monday, and not need to be pre-empted, where on USA they would be pre-empted, or at least airing on tape delay, 3 weeks a year (dog show, tennis).
Lately, I've read that USA is giving up the dog show, which is headed for ESPN2, I believe. ESPN also has the rest of tennis' Grand Slam events, so once USA's contract for the US Open runs out, it's likely going to ESPN.
Vince must not like that Viacom is low-balling him on a contract renewal, and is looking to return "home" to USA, which was his original cable home. With Albie Hecht gone at Spike, the WWE probably doesn't have anyone in their corner at Viacom anymore. We'll see come September.

The Smackdown contract still has two years to run; the move won't affect Smackdown at all. Keep in mind that Smackdown was on UPN for a year or two while Raw was on USA before Raw moved to TNN.
