WWE Raw house show February 26, 2005 Springfield, Mass. Report by , PWTorch.com correspondent
Fink came out with two people from the radio station 99.3. They just talked about their show. Then we were all asked to rise for National Anthem. La Resistance interrupted. Sylvan went to sing Canadian Anthem. Regal and Tajiri came out to interrupt him. The first match began.
(1) William Regal & Tajiri defeated La Resistance to retain World Tag Titles. Good match, better than the ones they've had on TV lately.
(2) "The Masterpeice" Chris Masters defeated Val Venis. They played up how Masters is gigantic. It took Val a while to finally knock him down. Masters defeated him with the full nelson. After the match Val just stood around and the fans gave him an applause...
(3) Chris Benoit defeated Chris Jericho in a submission match. You've saw this exact match on Raw a few weeks ago. It was a good match, you've just seen it already. The crowd was more into Y2J than Benoit. At the end they both shook hands.
(4) Trish Stratus defeated Victoria and Molly Holly. Identical to match on Raw with exception that after Victoria gave Molly the widow's pick, Trish gave Victoria the chick kick and pinned Molly. Victoria was VERY over and VERY enthusiastic to be there.
(5) Mohammad Hassan (w/ Davari) defeated Rhyno with the camel clutch. The end came when Rhyno went for the gore but his leg buckled. Hassan then put him in camel clutch. Rhyno was carried out by two refs. Although it looked like a work I will say his right knee did look a little swollen.
Coach introduced "Superstar" Billy Graham. Same as MSG show.
(6) Shelton Benjamin defeated Christian (w/ Tyson Tomko). Christian got a strange pop. It wasn't a heel or face pop. It was as if he just got a respected cheer from fans cause they knew he'd put on a good show. Odd....atleast that was how it sounded in my section. The match was really good. They pulled maybe creative situations. The match ended just like every Christian match lately. Tomko interfere's and fails and Christian gets T-Bone suplexed for the loss.
(7) Kane defeated Gene Snitsky in a hardcore match. It was a good match. Christy Hemme did special ring announcing. They used mostly garbage cans and lids and a hockey stick (Snitsky held up the stick, I was expecting for him to grab the mic and say "Hockey Season is canceled and that isn't my fault either" but he didn't. ) Fun match.
(8) Shawn Michaels defeated Edge. HBK attacked Edge before Edge made it to the ring. They brawled into the crowd. HBK threw Edge the plastic that's surrounding the upperlevel audience section. Very good match. Win after sweet shin music.
(9) Randy Orton & Batista defeated Triple H & Ric Flair in a steel cage match. It should be noted that a video camera recorded most of the show. There was a spot where Orton got nailed with a chair from Triple H and had a "concussion" and was brought back. Flair who bladed also was brought back. This left Batista and Triple H in a cage for a good 10 minutes. Batista dominated this and the crowd was behind him. He pinned Triple H with the Batista bomb. Batista then celebrated with the championship. This confused many people in the crowd who thought sinc eit was just Batista and Triple H that it was for the title. Refs then took the title and gave it back to Triple H so people weren't confused. *This match played out really well and WWE should consider making this a main event on Raw. I wouldn't be surprised if they did it this Monday or even the Raw before WrestleMania as if the show ended how the house show ended I think it could persuade many people to want to see the main event of WrestleMania.
Pops: It's hard to tell who got the biggest pops/heat. But Batista and Orton were by far the biggest ones.
Heat: La Resistance and Mahammad Haasan got the biggest heat.
