US Windsurfing Meeting at US Sailing Spring Conference

 Please pass the word: US Windsurfing will host a short conference at the US
Sailing Spring on Saturday, April 2, 2005. We invite any windsurfer in the
area to attend, members and non-members of US Windsurfing are equally
welcome.

The US Windsurfing presentation will begin at 11:30 a.m. in Ballroom D of
the Hyatt Regency in Newport, Rhode Island.

Registration for the whole shebang is free for first-timers, here is the
link to the main page of the Spring Meeting:
http://www.ussailin­g.org/events/meet05S­p/index.htm Registration can be made
from there, and a box checked at the end of the process to get in at no
cost.

Also presenting will be Nevin Sayre. Most of you know of Nevin from his top
level World Cup performance and his repeated US Championships. Nevin also
the recipient of the first US Windsurfing Windsurfer of the Year award for
his relentless promotion of windsurfing for may years, from hosting his
Kid's Camp to founding the Martha's Vineyard Challenge (a charitable
windsurfing event that has raised over $150,000 for a local charity). Nevin
will explain how windsurfing can benefit Junior Sailing Programs at yacht
clubs. What some of you may not know is that Nevin is the first-ever
four-time NCAA Collegiate All American dinghy sailor. Nevin's presentation
is worth seeing if you have any interest in making any similar presentation
to other entities, like parks and recreation departments, schools and other
sailing clubs.

Charles Ivey and I look forward to seeing you! Come hang out for the
afternoon, and show the sit-down sailors that windsurfing is about as "real"
as dinghy sailing can get. [This last line brought to you by the Committee
to irritate Jeff Feehan] ;-)­
