Help needed - Ripstop in UK

Richard Nourse 29 March 2005 23:23:19
Hi folks - this nice lady is looking for some "assistance"

Can any of you fine people, with bulging sacks of offcuts, please help?

This is what she wrote..................................

I am writing to you on behalf of Potters Gate C of E School Carnival Team.
Potters Gate is a Primary School situated in Farnham, Surrey and the
carnival team is made up of a group of parents who voluntarily organise
our children's School's entry in Farnham Carnival, a massive community
event run for charity by Farnham Lions.

We are immensely proud to say that for the last two years we have been
voted "Best School" and also "Best in Class" in the carnival, We would
love to repeat our success this year but to put it bluntly, our creative
ideas for 2005 are outstripping our budget (of nothing!).

We want to make fifty windsock fish which we will be carrying on 3m
poles. Bearing in mind that we rely entirely on the voluntary help of
parents and friends of the School we would be really grateful if you
could help us.

We need to find a source of cheap or free ripstop fabric (preferably
yellow and/or orange).

Do you know of any or is there any way we can get hold of end of rolls
cheaply (we have found some on ebay)? Any suggestions gratefully received!

For more information please do not hesitate to contact me.
Thanks for your help and I look forward to hearing from you.

Try scrounging offcuts of spinnaker cloth from a sailmaker. (Have been
successful with this before)

Best,
Stephen
