Today, I played 18 holes with the 9 AM group. After 6 holes, my shirt felt like it weighed 10 pounds. Golf season has been great. With temperature and humidity above 90 every day, it may be time to put up the clubs and wait for fall.

What a wimp! Start a discussion on the "dry" shirts, or how sweaty palms effect golf gloves. Those guys up in Minnesota are just now able to dig out there driveways. I'm sure they feel sorry for you.

Where do you live? Down here in Florida conditions are already bordering on intolerable. A couple of months ago it was no problem walking 27 or even 36, but now with the temperature and humidity starting to climb above 90 you're hard pressed to even get through 18.
Otoh the nice courses are cheap again and it'll stay that way until all the northerners descend on us again next fall.
What a bunch of WIMPS .... you complain about the heat?
Your lucky to have the HEAT. In New England the weather SUCKS, I MEAN SUCKS SUCKS SUCKS SUCKS SUCKS SUCKS SUCKS ........... DID I SAY SUCKS.
IT HAS RAINED EVERY WEEKEND SINCE ???? AND YESTERDAY IT EVEN SNOWED A LITTLE.
AND YOU COMPLAIN ABOUT SOME HEAT.
NO WONDER THE NORTH WON THE CIVIL WAR ......

All these complaints about heat? What's up with that? Here in TX we're just getting warmed up. Sweat is a great lubricant. Backs, shoulders, elbows, hips, knees all work better when it's hot.
Guys it isn't even Memorial Day, what are you going to whine about from 4th of July through Labor Day?....

...Ah, that's nothing.... I once played 18 holes in a gas grill - talk about hot!!
maybe you could talk to the course management about playing w/o a shirt for the back nine - save ya 10 lbs right there!
We all know that New England is not a good place for Golf. That's why so few golfers of any quality come from there. Hockey players, skiers, world class tobogganists.....
But overall pretty lame golfers.
Best golfer ever to come out of New England? Faxon?
I rest my case....

It's supposed to be 111 in Phoenix on Sunday. My tee time is 7:00AM. No, I don't feel sorry for you. Golf season for me is just starting. Courses that cost $200/rd in winter can be played for 10-20% of that in summer.

It's nice here now...shirt sleeves, etc. I played with a guy the other day, a retired farmer, who said "just a couple more weeks and I'll be able to take off the long johns".

I dunno. I spent this week in NH and played twice. This morning was a very nice spring day. The upside to New England is that there are some excellent courses with lots of great views, lots of elevation changes, bentgrass fairways and greens... the downside is the short season.
I'm off back to Florida, where I love the hot weather, and the cheap golf - but with bermuda grass, lots of sand, lots of water, and not a lot of elevation changes.

In Phoenix as long as I remember to bring enough water, I can survive the heat. The East is too humid for me. I'll take Colorado over either.

Sheehan's Dad was hockey coach at my high school. Great family. Hope Pat wins on tour soon. I was kidding about the Golf thing but the season is just way too short in NE. Was he wearing golf shorts?
Long pants, thank heavens. As luck would have it, I played with him again today. He's still got 'em on!

I can relate somewhat...I live in N. Alabama and it seemed to skip the latter part of Spring. Jumped from 72 to 90. Dont get me wrong..I am definately not a wimp..I enjoy going out at 10am when it is already 82' and 75% humidity. The reason is that a lot of the "older" gentlemen dont like to ply unless its early or late. The course is mostly empty except for the people that brave the heat...I just drink a ton of water...Not sure how long I will keep walking...I will eventually get off my wallet and ride...
The first time I saw the RTJ fees go DOWN starting 6/1, I laughed. I asked the girl behind the counter if they truly went down due to the heat. she said they have to reduce the fees to keep the clientel at the 60% level of the spring and fall.
As a side note..I grew up in Las Vegas and moved to Alabama..There is definately something to the "dry heat" theory. I would rather play in Vegas on a 105' day with 15% humidity then a 90' day in AL w/ 70% humidity...World of difference!!
