"CBS" News or CIA Evening News?

Awake 19 May 2005 23:38:35
On Tuesday night the CBS Evening News with Bob Schieffer pretended to report
on the harboring of a CIA maniac in Florida by the name of Luis Posada Carriles,
who has had a close paid relationship with the CIA in "Covert Operations" going
back to the Bay of Pigs invasion (get out your "JFK" DVD).

CBS had no qualms about mentioning the Bay of Pigs as they and the other
TV networks spent hundreds of millions of dollars slandering the film "JFK" and
anyone else who connected the CIA and the Bay of Pigs to JFK's assassination.

However, CBS lied about Luis Posada Carriles' status with Venezuela, saying that
he had been "acquitted" twice (!) in Venezuela of bombing a Cuban airliner there
which killed 76 people (many of them Cuban athletes). In fact, Venezuela wants
Carriles returned there where he *escaped* from prison while waiting to face trial
for the airline bombing.

Now how could CBS possibly get this "wrong" when it was in the morning newspapers?
From the Los Angeles Times:

"This month Venezuela formally requested that Posada be sent there. The Bay of Pigs
veteran, who collaborated with the CIA, escaped from a Venezuelan prison in 1985
while awaiting a legal appeal in the 1976 bombing of a Cuban airliner en route from
Caracas to Havana. Many of the 73 people killed in the explosion were young Cubans
returning from an athletic competition."

This is what I mean about the American people being brainwashed by lies from the TV "news".
90% of the American public get their news from television, so it doesn't matter that the
newspaper said that Venezuela wants this maniac returned there to face trial.

CBS played it up as if the only alternative was to return Carriles to Cuba when in fact Cuba
is not asking for him to be sent there. Cuba is OK with his being sent to Venezuela for trial
because that is where the bombing took place.

CBS also neglected to mention that Carriles admitted to the New York Times that he also
bombed several hotels in Havana as recently as 1997. An Italian tourist was murdered in
one of those explosions, but then the CIA doesn't have a problem with murdering Italians
who do not follow their orders as we saw recently in Iraq.

Apparently CBS does not either. Whatever the CIA wants to hear that is what CBS broadcasts.

Check your local broadcast listings for the "CIA Evening News" with Bob Schieffer.

"According to Michael Moloney, Gehring had even applied to
the CIA, and used to tell a story about it. The marine from
Dayton 'had no academic credentials,' Moloney relates, but
the CIA 'liked his attitude. "The world is full of commie bastards
and all I wanted to do at that time was kill, kill, kill."'
Moloney quotes Gehring as having said."

I didn't know Chomskyites played golf. Isn't that a bit bourgeoisie for the
proletariat? If your comrades knew about this, you would be totally
disgraced.

As a follow up, Venezuela said they would not extradite Carriles to
Cuba if Washington approves his extradition to Venezuela for trial.
This was reported Wednesday by the BBC broadcast on PBS here
in the states, but the "CIA Evening News" with Bob Schieffer did not
report this fact.

The lies about Iraq having WMD was not unusual. The TV news lies
to the American public everyday.

I'm all ears. Please tell me how we could fix Iraq in two weeks.
Change the leadership, and we will fix Iraq within two weeks.

Umm, we tried that a couple of years ago, and again last year, and
again this year. And if I recall correctly, lots of people thought
that those changes would "fix" Iraq. I would have to say they were
wrong.
