Golf equipment marketing...

Fred Taylor 15 May 2005 05:09:06
 is a freaking joke.

Titleist is trying to promote Vijay's use the ProV1x ball and Brett
Wetterich's use a Titleist driver for their recent successes by putting
their mugs on the front page of their website (http://www.titleist.com).
Meanwhile, these guys are donning Cleveland Golf hats, giving Cleveland free
advertising. When I first went to the website, I thought I typed the wrong
URL.

So, am I supposed to believe Vijay won the Wachovia because he used the
ProV1x ball or because he used Cleveland equipment?

Apparently, Titleist is not too concerned about competition from Cleveland,
and probably for good reason.

It's no joke at all; it's big business. These guys aren't as dumb as
they look. Someone is listening and buying or they would change
strategies.
