Boyne Highlands or Boyne Mountain. Especially the former. The Highlands has four good courses. Well, maybe three. I'm not fond of the Hills Course.

I don't care if someone takes a stab at Detroit, but you have no idea> what you're talking about when it comes to golf in Michigan. We have> some of the best courses in the country here, especially in Northern> MI.
I was hoping a local would post something like this. Most people aren't aware of the wonderful golf in Michigan and only associate Michigan with inner-city Detroit. I wish I had it so bad!

I live 5 minutes from the Palace of Auburn Hills, which as some may not> know, is only about 35 minutes from Detroit. It's two different worlds> when you cross the border there.>
We have excellent courses in North Oakland county, and I get the> privledge of meeting a few RSGers at the end of the month for some> golf!
And as some might not know, you are very close to Big Beaver!

True, it's "discovered" but it's still basically out in the middle of> nowhere. If it were closer to a larger city it would get more play> but thankfully it doesn't.
I thought CD was private and you required a member to bring you to the course????

Larry is right. Michigan has some of the best courses in the country. Unfortunately, those courses attract some of the shittiest people on the planet, to our wonderful state.

Part of the charm of CD is its remote location and understated facilities. The place is positively heavenly, a throwback to an earlier era.

It is..........
I've gotten on CD through the pro at my club in Grand Rapids. He's pals with the pro at CD. The last time we went up there, we played Arcadia Bluffs in the morning and CD in the afternoon. Now that was a great day of golf. A modern links and a classic Donald Ross all in one day.
