Sorry Anni, I'd take May over Nat any day. I've seen her website (www.maywoodgolf.net). She's into fishin' and horses and Vince Gill (watch out Amy!). That's my kind of girl!

I don't know what country you're from, but "Chinaman" is considered pretty offensive here in the U.S. Does Gordie consider you a "bud" as well even though you refer to him that way? If so, I wouldn't be surprised if he refers to you as "Gwai Lo".

He was a good man (from China) and was just another one of the guys. He comes home for Xmas each year and we play cards on Xmas eve after all the little shits have gone to bed.
'Ol Gordie never thought the world owed him something based on the color of his skin. His family ran the local cleaners but you'll probably think that's a fuckin' shame as well.

Interesting Irishman, Scotsman, Frenchman, Americaman, Canadaman (and so on) aren't offensive so why is Chinaman.

Interesting Irishman, Scotsman, Frenchman,
Are you that blind?
See how "Irish", "Scots", and "French" are adjectives referring to people of the countries of "Ireland", "Scotland", and "France", respectively?
You don't say Irelandman or Scotlandman or Franceman, do you? If you did, you'd sound like an ignoramus.
Americaman, Canadaman (and so on)
These terms are just nonsense. If you said this, you would sound like an idiot.
aren't offensive so why is Chinaman.
Therefore, "Chinaman" is the same. It makes you sound like an ignorant fool, because that ignorant, racists fools made-up that word.
If you don't believe me, look up the word in the dictionary, and you'll see the word "offensive" next to it.
The girl I want can hit a power-fade with the driver that goes at least 260 ... while she's dressed in a dominatrix outfit. If Natalie can do that ... she IS the girl I want.

Fred, your line of argument is so weak it isn't even funny. While Irish, Scot, French are used so are Irishman, Scotsman, Frenchman, and Chinaman. You have no doubt seen to many Westerns

Fred, your line of argument is so weak it isn't even funny.
Your mind is so weak it isn't funny.
While Irish, Scot, French are used so are Irishman, Scotsman, Frenchman, > and Chinaman.
OK. Let's put an end to this right now.
"Irish", "Scots" (or "Scottish"), "French", and "Chinese" are adjectives. So you can use these words in the following constructs:
"He is Irish." (acceptable) "He is Scots/Scottish." (acceptable) "He is French." (acceptable) "He is Chinese." (acceptable)
But you can also say something like "Irish man" (adjective-noun), which over time has been contracted to "Irishman".
"He is an Irish man." (acceptable) "He is an Irishman." (contracted and acceptable) "He is a Scottish man." (acceptable) "He is a Scotsman." (contracted and acceptable) "He is a French man." (acceptable) "He is a Frenchman." (contracted and acceptable) "He is a Chinese man." (acceptable) "He is a Chineseman." (contracted and acceptable but not so common)
The usage of "China man" or "Chinaman" (noun-noun constuct) is both grammatically incorrect and highly-offensive. That "Chinaman" is used commonly in whatever uncultured circles that you belong to doesn't make it any more acceptable. That word is very offensive. And it really doesn't matter what you or I think. What matters is how the Chinese feel about that word, and I can guarantee that it's considered offensive.
If you still think there's nothing wrong with "Chinaman", let me give you some examples of where I'm coming from:
"Alan Dershowitz is a Jewish lawyer." (acceptable) "Alan Dershowitz is a Jew lawyer." (unacceptable and offensive)
"He is a Jewish boy." (acceptable) "He is a Jew boy." (unacceptable and offensive)
If this isn't proof enough for you, then I suggest that you go to a group of Chinese street gang members and ask them: "Are you all Chinamen?" Let's see how long you live.
You have no doubt seen to many Westerns
I don't watch Westerns, but I know what is offensive.
