First of all, that av1 is 24MB!!!! Why don't you import it> into Moviemaker and spit out a wmv file of about 1.5MB or so?

Oops sorry.

Second, it is a face-on view. Although I see some things in> your swing, I don't know that they are the cause of your> problem with pushing the ball. A down-the-line view would> be better. I think you probably have a swing plane issue,> which would be more easily seen from that view.

I have one of those too but it was a larger file heh heh.

OK, it's not really that bad of a swing. You keep your> head pretty level on the backswing, which is good. However,> you slide over to the right side a bit too far. Notice> how the knee cap is over the outside of the right foot> at the top? You want to stay on the inside edge of your> back foot. That is one thing I noticed myself.
Notice how you have lost your spine tilt away from the> target at the top of the backswing? You have a slight> reverse pivot happening. This comes from sliding your> hips too far to the right on the backswing, and not> digging in with the inside edge of your back foot.> Feel the weight go onto the inside edge, and then no> farther!

Hmmm, should I concentrate on keepin my hips more still then?

How do I fix this?

I think your stance is a little too narrow for a> driver, by the way. This could be the cause of the> excess sway, or a contributing factor.>
Finally, you are raising up on the downswing. This is> probably a reaction to avoid hitting fat.

I do have that problem, and I have always been fighting the problem of
standing up since I bagan three years ago. I noticed it alot after
impact.

If you would> look at the down-the-line view, you would see your> butt moving towards the target line, and away from the> "tush line". You would also see that you lose your spine> angle when that happens.>
You need to clear your hips out to the left instead> of standing up. This will maintain the distance you> need from the ball to avoid hitting fat, and allow> you to stay in your posture and maintain spine> angle through impact.>
But nothing here tells me why you are pushing the ball.> I'm sure you would see it pretty clearly with a> down-the-line view, though. Make sure that you> capture a swing where you actually push the ball,> of course.

Since that capture, I have kinda changed my swing to address my problem of
not bring the club back straight.

Maybe I should have waited with this.

Thanx for your help though... Seriously.

One other point, if your camera has a way to set the shutter> speed, or if it has a "sports" mode, use it. You want to set the> shutter speed as fast as the light allows. That will help> eliminate the blurring problem so you can see what the> clubshaft is doing during the swing.>

Lol!

Now that I look, there's a little pic of a golfer on the shutter selector.

I don't know why I should have put it in that position?

Hi Gary,>

You should be able to look exactly like a pro during the takeaway,> don't you think? I thought so, too, but it's a lot harder than it> appears. It's an interesting little puzzle.>
Good luck!>
(I just started working at a new job, so I may not be spending> as much time in RSG.)

FWIW, I went out yesterday focusing exclusively on bringing the club back
more behind me instead of above me (for a lack of a better way of putting
it) and after wildly erratically hitting the ball the first half of the
bucket, I started to settle down.

In the actual round, I had some of the longest straightest drives of my
life (WOO HOO) and also some awful shots... which I've always had anyway.
I also put it on the green on 3 of 4 par threes, which I have never done
before. I think once I get my swing locked so I don't have to focus on
that anymore, this is going to make my game much more pleasurable. My
swing is even starting to FEEL simpler.

Thanx again for all the help.

I purchased Cswing, just to keep up with my progress. It really really
helps me see my mistakes.
