Golf isn't a fair game and neither is life. One can hit the best shot in the world and have the ball hit something such as a twig or other loose impediment and wind up in a hazard or other nasty place through no fault of one's action(s). Just as in life, circumstance can alter one's best actions into something less than desirable. It's how one reacts to such circumstances that define one's character. Let those circumstances get the best of you or try and figure out the best way to overcome them.

My favorite golf/life carryover saying is "Expect the Unexpected."
